Physical ability/disability

The tv drama that i have chosen for this is glee this is becuase one of their case meber is in a weelchair but is still bale to concer his dreams by singing and getting around on the stage by other member of the case. this is an insprational shows becuase it shows that the media has shown that you can achieve anything physicality able or not becuase their is a girl in the case which has a stutter but this this does not stiop her from singing and the media has shown this is a reflective and positive way.

Land girls
This is a tv drama series which only says about three farm girls which are all white, which had disgriminated and ethicity has been stated in this program becuase the media has protrayed that only white people work on farms and different races dont do this however other media has informed us that they do and life is hard for them and this is why this brogram has discriminated and hasnt used different ethicitys from different cultures.



Sexuality

In the tv drama Midsomer Murders they do not portray anyone as been of a different sexuality, as in the media they normal do do this how ever in this case becuase invesagaters have to be professional,smart, formal and normaly people who are of a different sexuality like to be more outgoing and like to have fun and this would not be helpfu in a serious case and this is why the media has shown the investigaters in midsomer murders as being straight and professional.

The tv drama chelsea is the same as the only way is esssex really but the actors have to be from a higher class back ground and conduct themselves in a corrct manner as this is how the media postrys their area and the class they are from which is middle upper class whereas the only way is essex is more lower class area. as you can tell my the image it shows they are all in smart dresses and suits and ties showing that they are rich and have alot of money as this is how the media prtrays upper class middle class people to the world.

Gender


For this topic I have chosen The big bang theroy , this is becuase the media has protrayed four guys that are really smart next door to a girl who is less intelligent and they hang around with each other , the media has shown that men are more intelligent them womasn and have a high status then them and they have put the woman in a dumb and blonde status it shows that men have more of sense of being then woman and this is why their are more then woman which is not right as woman are intelligent and should not be protrayed in this way. CLASS AND STATUS

Regional Identity 


This is the area someone comes from , a show that stereotypes this is The only way is essex, this is because when people watch the show they feel that all people from essex are dumb,orange,fake,and don't care about anything part from what they look like and not all people from essex are like this and this is why The only way is essex stereotypes essex people and shows them in a certain way from the area they live in. this is unfare as not all people are like this and when they see people from essex they look down on them if they are from a higher class back ground becuase they feel that are better then then and this is why in media we have diffeent soical sociaty groups.


Age

This is when the media stereotype different age groups and pertrays them in different ways depending on their age so if someone was old everyone would look down on them becuase it shows they are weak and useless which is wrong becuase thy have knowlege and witdome where as teenagers are seen by old people as load and rude people who are always on their phones and dont care about life which is untrue becuase some children do an example of this is waterloo road, this is a tv drama series where it is bases in a school and some children and looked down on my their older teachers becuase they are not as smart or the pupils bully the teachers becuase of age and this shows that teenagers at school who are ages 13-17 dont know what they want to do with their life where as older people or the teachers in the drama 21+ are and this shows us that age is important when making decisions.

Overview of the Examination

Written Examination which lasts two hours and is worth fifty percent for AS level. There are two sections of the exam. 

Section A - Textual analysis and representation of an unseen extract of a television drama. (This will be worth twenty-five percent.)

Section B - To assess your knowledge and understanding of media institutions and their production processes, issues concerning audience reception and consumption of media texts. (This will be worth twenty-five percent.)

- Case study of British and US film industries

- Looking at films such as Avatar, Sherlock Homes and more 

We will be assessed on:

- Quality of examples from the text (20 Marks)

- Terminology (10 Marks)

- Quality of written work (20 Marks)
